Start of Workshop on Management and Conservation of archives and heritage libraries at the Universidad Panamericana
The Pan American University Library together with the CODICIS Consortium has begun its “Workshop on Management and Conservation of Heritage Archives and Libraries” which aims to develop in those who guard the bibliographic and documentary heritage of the region, the necessary capacities to safeguard it. This activity began on Friday, September 1 of this year and will take place on Fridays and Saturdays of the months of September, October and November.
20 students with multidisciplinary profiles and from different institutions participate in the training: teachers, students and retirees from our institution, as well as interns and thesis students from the State Public Library and librarians from various public institutions, such as the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí and WITH WATER.
We will have the participation of professors from the University of Barcelona (Spain), the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (Bolivia), the University of Piura (Peru) and the University of Catania (Italy), as well as professors from our university.
82 hours will be worked in hybrid mode to develop in the participants the sensitivity and necessary skills involved in the conservation and safeguarding of our documentary heritage. The workshop will conclude with the inauguration of the conservation laboratory facilities that, thanks to the CODICIS project, the Pan American University, has implemented.
Congratulations to students and teachers on this new project!
