{"id":3849,"date":"2022-09-05T18:02:16","date_gmt":"2022-09-05T23:02:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.codicis.org\/?p=3849"},"modified":"2024-04-03T16:38:17","modified_gmt":"2024-04-03T21:38:17","slug":"ucb-tarija-participa-primer-encuentro-proyecto-codicis-mexico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.codicis.org\/en\/ucb-tarija-participa-primer-encuentro-proyecto-codicis-mexico\/","title":{"rendered":"UCB Tarija, Bolivia participates in the first meeting of the CODICIS project in Mexico to train in preservation of documentary heritage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With the purpose of promoting training on recovery, conservation and dissemination of documentary and bibliographic historical heritage in the countries of Mexico, Peru and Bolivia; a team of the <a href=\"https:\/\/tja.ucb.edu.bo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Bolivian Catholic University \u201cSan Pablo\u201d Tarija Headquarters<\/strong><\/a>, attended the First Meeting of the CODICIS Project, which took place from August 29 to September 1, 2022 in the city of Guadalajara, Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>The UCB Tarija team was made up of: Mar\u00eda Carolina Soto Montenegro, Academic Director of Headquarters; Vilma Choquehuanca Zeballos, Head of the Library; Mar\u00eda del Rosario Cavero Rodr\u00edguez, Head of Special Projects, and Valeria Arduz Murillo, Specialist in Academic Quality Management.<\/p>\n<p>The members of the CODICIS project received training in documentary and bibliographic heritage, made visits to the different public libraries, heritage museums, ecclesiastical historical archives and the document conservation and restoration laboratories of the city of Guadalajara.<\/p>\n<p>They also participated in the Regional Symposium \u201cDocumentary and Bibliographic Heritage: Sources and Research Techniques\u201d on August 31 and September 1, which was organized by the Universidad Panamericana. In it, different topics related to heritage sources in archives and personal sources from bibliographic research were addressed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith the objective of capturing and exchanging good practices between the European and Latin American universities that are part of the project, analysis, reflection and evaluation are sought to make the pertinent adjustments according to our reality,\u201d said the Headquarters Academic Director.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, at the meeting, the members managed to plan all the activities that will be carried out until 2023, when the project ends.<\/p>\n<p>During this visit, a very important connection was achieved; first with the participating members, because from the beginning the project was carried out virtually. \u201cSo with this in-person meeting, we have been able to talk and analyze possible situations and future projects that we can undertake,\u201d said Carolina Soto.<\/p>\n<p><em>The European Commission through the Erasmus+ program through the CODICIS project \u201cStrengthening Capacities for the Recovery and Conservation of the Documentary and Bibliographic Heritage of Latin America\u201d, in collaboration on the one hand with European institutions (EU HEIs) of higher education with experience in managing the training of personnel and on the other, the higher education institutions of Latin America (IES LAM) that can be local managers of training and conditioning of appropriate units for the preservation of local archival and bibliographic cultural heritage.
