ZAPOPAN, Jalisco; September 1, 2022.-\u00a0<\/strong>The\u00a0University panameric<\/strong> Campus Guadalajara received renowned professors from universities of\u00a0Bolivia<\/em>,\u00a0Peru<\/em>,\u00a0Mexico<\/em>,\u00a0Spain<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Italy<\/em>, within the framework of the project called\u00a0CODICES.\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>Said project, search\u00a0strengthen the capacities for the recovery and conservation of the documentary and bibliographic heritage of Latin America<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This supports the\u00a0search for the training of personnel related to the conservation and management of archives and heritage libraries<\/strong>, through the design and execution of a specialization course.<\/p>\n

Likewise, the\u00a0implementation of laboratories specialized in the conservation and enhancement of heritage documents and books<\/strong>. The project is financed by the\u00a0European Union<\/strong>\u00a0through the program\u00a0Erasmus+<\/strong><\/a>. Currently, the project is designed to satisfy the pedagogical and academic needs of\u00a0Peru<\/em>,\u00a0Bolivia<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Mexico<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

First Stage: WP1<\/h2>\n

The process takes place in\u00a09 stages<\/em>, each of them is directed by a university.\u00a0The Universidad Panamericana was responsible for the first stage of work, called WP1<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

At this stage, the\u00a0methodological bases<\/em>,\u00a0pedagogical<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0academic<\/em>\u00a0for training in the conservation and management of documentary cultural heritage. In this way, the methodological framework for the diagnosis was defined, a comparative analysis of the existing situation in the archives and libraries with heritage collections from Peru, Bolivia and Mexico was carried out, and the good practices of the\u00a0IES<\/strong>\u00a0in the\u00a0EU<\/strong>\u00a0in some\u00a0Virtual Conferences<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Documentary and bibliographic heritage<\/h2>\n

To conclude with this work table, the\u00a0University panameric<\/strong>\u00a0is a proud creditor of the organization of the Regional Symposium\u00a0\u201cDocumentary and bibliographic heritage: sources and research techniques\u201d<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>in which various sources for heritage studies were addressed, hand in hand with the\u00a0conservation practices<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0preservation of European higher education institutions<\/em>\u00a0along with regional practices.<\/p>\n

On the first day of the symposium they addressed topics such as\u00a0\u201cSources for heritage studies in libraries\u201d<\/strong>,\u00a0\u201cSources for heritage studies in Archives\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0and finally\u00a0\u201cPatrimonial and personal sources of biographical research\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

On the second day the following topics were discussed:\u00a0\u201cThe Memory of the World Program and documentary heritage\u201d<\/strong>,\u00a0\u201cDigitization of files and documents\u201d<\/strong>,\u00a0\u201cPreservation of historical ecclesiastical archives\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0and closed with\u00a0\u201cConservation and restoration of the archive of the Public Library of the State of Jalisco\u201d<\/strong>. To conclude the event, a discussion was held to highlight regional experiences regarding archival science and library science in the region.<\/p>\n

In this way, the Pan American University, in collaboration with renowned universities around the world,\u00a0seeks to raise awareness and form a commitment to the heritage of Latin America, by seeking evaluation and advice on its care<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
